I’m a devout anarchist, but the shit going on in Baltimore is literally society folding in on itself. When will these idiots learn?

“Devout anarchist” is a phrase I never expected someone over the age of 16 to attribute to themselves.

I’ve not newsed today ... getting bad, eh?
![]() 04/27/2015 at 19:59 |

How so? You turn 17 and you’re supposed to believe that the government has our best interest at hearts? And to be honest, or he powers that be have done more harm than good since I came of age. Both sides.

It just keeps escalating. I have no idea what will happen. And the damage count is rising. Either they’ll destroy the city or the military will come. Either one doesn’t set well.

Fuckin idiots.

They postponed the Orioles and White Sox game that was supposed to be tonight. The cell phone footage is crazy, especially the the footage from the CVS.

From a certain standpoint “society folding in on itself”
is
the point of anarchy. It does so that it will destroy itself and allow something new, and hopefully better to be built in it’s place. I’m not certain that is what will happen here.

Basically

I’ve been expecting revolution for a while now. First occupy, then Ferguson. Maybe this will be the tipping point

The National Guard is on it’s way....
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:03 |

Apparently they’re cutting fire hoses. I’m all for protests, but not for riots.

Well the national guard are already on their way soooo...

Government is, ideally, decided on by the people who are governed. They are representatives making agrwemnets for groups of people to simplify agreements and social assistance. I agree that our current system is wrong. I disagree that we shoodnt have ANY. That is the difference. When government works, roads, trade, schools, defense, and other aspects of life you don’t consider are handled efficiently and you can simply live as if it isn’t there......and that is the opposite of what us happening now admit. But please consider that “no government at all” is impossible at this point and it is such a hinderance that to be true anarchist you would have to forego pretty more ch everything you own since global trade means you cab have things co developed or manufactured around the earth with ease thanks to government brokered trade agreements that apply to all companies instead of piecemeal negotiations.

I just CNN’d ... holy crap!

Yeah. Dicey doesn’t even begin to describe
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:10 |

While I understand that we could no longer exist without, even if it was just got trade and local identity, I do believe that the government has completely overstepped it’s bounds. They are meant to be of the people and for the people. There’s too many corporate ties, and the only way to truly restore order would be to start again.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:15 |

Before anarchy meant “break everything you see” it simply meant that there was no controlling order. You do unto others because you know what’s right and wrong, not because big brother is watching.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:15 |
|
Noe that is an idea with arguable merit. In which case, you would be more of a revolutionary than an anarchist. Sounds pedantic but they have entirely different goals. As I said to a group of mixed political company “Even the most devout tea partier would keep the house of representatives and even the most devout liberal doesn’t like wasted money”. You’d be surprised a the common ground people have when they use common sense. Anarchists, IMO, have none. Because their end goal is unobtainable and unreasonable.

this should be more on CL then oppo. Just saying
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:20 |

Adapt or die, I suppose. I just don’t know what those rioters think they are doing. “Yeah, fuck this 7-Eleven! We’ll show ‘em!” It ultimatley will only make things worse for everyone....because big brother
is
watching now that they’ve done this.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:20 |

Rioters are idiots. Breaking your infrastructure is a less than 0 sum game.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:23 |

Fair enough. Last time I had a post of something like this, someone called me a Jeffersonian. Mainly because of the quote about “watering the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants”.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:24 |
|
The thing is, aren’t Baltimore Police already investigating the incident and have suspended the officers? What is rioting going to do to help it at this point?
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:24 |
|
It's shameful and a disgrace to the very principles of organized, orderly protest. I think the Bastards of Baltimore (I just made that up, no offense to non-rioting citizens) just took an excuse to riot and destroy, lessening the likelihood that their cause will be appreciated by members of the opposition/authority.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:24 |

True. But I was hoping to catch a wider net of oppinions.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:25 |

Putting yourself in an violently antagonizing situation with the people you want to influence is a dipshit way of protest.
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:26 |

When a group of co-workers updated me on the situation, their description was “they’ve looted a cell phone store, liquor store, and a CVS!”. My exact response was “That’ll show an!”

Unfortunately, it’s only going to make the police look justified...

As well, the people in American society today (rant incoming) are poorly educated on the matters at hand in the world and in our government. The smart plan from 2016 onwards would be to have a moderate Republican in the presidency who could mend divisions and take a tougher foreign policy line, putting Russia in its place away from belligerency. But no. Our citizens will vote for Hillary because their friends will shame them if they don’t vote for a woman, and we’ll have another Obamite in office with a shady history that no one will give a shit about
![]() 04/27/2015 at 20:43 |

I have a friend that is close enough to hear gunshots going off, and she and her family live in a pretty nice area. This...may not end well, especially if they go near her house. I say this because, like me, she is an Alabama transplant. One thing most of us from there have in common is that our homes are usually very, very heavily armed.

>VOTING FOR REPUBLICUNTS AND SHILLARY
Vote for Uncle Joe Biden or Warren to combat the Triple Wall of Privilege: Banks, Mega Corporations, and Anti Union Laws.

What will the protesters say when it’s not cops or military that are coming after them, but other citizens?

Well, I gave my political opinion in a discussion. My views are by default not higher than yours and I at least tried to conform to Oppo rule #1
![]() 04/27/2015 at 22:00 |

And I’ll admit maybe the way I expressed these views were a bit blunt, cynical, and possibly a little rude
![]() 04/27/2015 at 22:06 |

I don’t think that will happen, but if it does it won’t be anything we’ve ever experienced in this country in a very long time.

I apologize in advance for if anyone is offended by the way I presented my views and the contents of those views

There is a very real, disgusting, horrifying difference between the trendy Anarchy idolized by youthful citizens of First World Nations and true, bitter Anarchy.
I would recommend reading some Thomas Hobbes and John Locke, they have some excellent material on the State of Nature (Anarchy). After that, book a trip to Somalia.
